“Elephants swimming through the waters, Eating the stems of ivory-white water lilies.....”

"Beginnings and Ends"

by Mrinalini Sisodia Wadhwa

To my left, the sun set, and the sky shone, blushing crimson,
To my right, the moon rose, clad in white luminescence.
It was the dawn of creation and the end of the world, all at once.
I was too young to see the former,
And I shall not live to be old enough to behold the latter,
But in the bliss of dusk, none of that matters.

I need not see those first days, nor the final ones,
Because I know them now, regardless:
What shall it be, you ask?
It shall be this.
Utter, utter freedom; total bliss.
Crickets and frogs singing in symphonies,
Behind, baboons arguing over a frivolity,
Elephants swimming through the waters,
Eating the stems of ivory-white water lilies.

During the day, we lose our path,
We stray away from the sun,
We shun the moon;
How foolish we are, to think
That they depend on us to rise,
That we can command them to set?
As if!

Don’t you see?
This is how the world began,
The sun rising on one continent,
The moon rising on the other.
A new dawn, violet and blue–
Free of sin, free of greed and envy and fighting,
Completely, utterly, free.

Do you see now?
This is how the world will end.
The sun setting on one continent,
The moon setting on the other.
The last dusk, fire, orange, crimson–
Nothing but the animals’ litanies, the light’s embrace,
Euphoric, total bliss.

“The experience surpassed any expectations we had, and also we especially liked how we seemed to be stepping up on the luxury scale as we moved along from camp to camp, starting from Toka Leya, to Qorokwe, and finally to Mombo!”

Hi Chelsea!

We’ve finally settled back in here in Singapore - after a truly amazing trip to Africa, it’s taken a while as one would probably expect!

Just wanted to drop you an email to thank you profusely for putting together a great itinerary for us. The experience surpassed any expectations we had, and also we especially liked how we seemed to be stepping up on the luxury scale as we moved along from camp to camp, starting from Toka Leya, to Qorokwe, and finally to Mombo! Mombo definitely takes the cake but all of them are great camps with equally polished & friendly staff.

Plenty of game in Botswana like you mentioned. We saw all the big 5, cheetahs, African wild dogs, and even an African wild cat (which made us laugh - Mark said it looked like someone took a domestic cat and threw it in the bush). Wildlife, in all its glory, was absolutely stunning and captivating.

So - thank you again, we had an amazing and unforgettable time.

“The trip was organized flawlessly. The two lodges and hotel were all superb”

It was an exceptional trip. We have been to two countries. The trip was organized flawlessly. The two lodges and hotel were all superb. The staff in all three places was the best. The places were different which enriched the experience.

Hoanib Valley Camp is a new place and its specialty is the Geological Unique formation, more than the animals. It is unique, deserts and very imposing.

Cape Town is a beautiful town and we had two fantastic guides who were very knowledgeable and efficient. We could have spent more time there. Kruger National Park. We were not disappointed by the many animals, expert guidance the tractor, Ernest and guide Scott. The camp is run very efficiently. We were sad to say goodbye to each and every camp.

“If there is such a thing as a perfect honeymoon, then A2A definitely planned one for us”

If there is such a thing as a perfect honeymoon, then A2A definitely planned one for us. From the breathtaking experiences of seeing lions roar and leopards munching on fresh kill, to spending nights in a beautiful luxurious tent with hippos right outside, to eating and drinking our hearts out in both the safari and Cape Town, we wish we could do it all over again! We also enjoyed the VIP treatment we got because we were on honeymoon and would recommend for everyone to visit Africa. It was a truly life changing experience!
