Days 1 & 2. Victoria Falls

On arrival at Victoria Falls, road and boat transfer to the exquisite Victoria Falls River Lodge, on the lapping shores of the Zambezi River. Each luxury thatched tented suite is imaginatively decorated in an African theme, with rich cotton, linen and billowing mosquito netting setting a romantic atmosphere. 

In the distance, marvel at the "Smoke that Thunders"' spray churned up from the Falls while on the river watch hippo and crocodile lazing. Africa's adventure capital, many activities are possible and include a walking tour of the Falls from more than twenty vantage points, sunset river cruises and guided game drives as well as helicopter flights and river rafting!

Days 3, 4 & 5. Linkwasha, Hwange

A one hour flight takes you the private Makalolo concession in Hwange National Park. Linkwasha Camp's luxury guest tents are fitted with an eclectic mix of contemporary interiors, the airy design of the main area featuring an indoor fireplace, generous plunge pool and a multi-level deck for raised game viewing across the plains.

Featuring a myriad of waterholes, enjoy some of Africa's finest game viewing. View resident herds of African elephant with lion, leopard, wild dogs, huge buffalo herds and rarely seen sable. Activities include game drives, watching wildlife from the camp's log pile "hides", nature walks and village visits.

Days 6, 7 & 8. Ruckomechi, Mana Pools

A two hour flight over Lake Kariba takes you to Mana Pools National Park. The best private concession in Mana Pools is Ruckomechi Camp, on the banks of the Zambezi and looking out onto the Great Rift Valley in Zambia. The side placed "off-set" meru tents provide the best views of the river with comfortable interiors while the main area features a lounge/ bar, dining room and large fireplace under the stars!

Mana is renowned for large numbers of hippo, elephant, crocodile and buffalo. On land, predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog are frequently seen. Expertly led game drives, boating, canoeing, walks and catch-and-release fishing for tiger fish are on offer.

With Cape Town a flight away, this vibrant, eclectic city is a destination not to be missed at the end or beginning of this safari! The "Mother City" surrounds Table Mountain and is located on the south western tip of Africa. Take a cable car to the mountain top and enjoy endless Atlantic ocean vistas, amble through the World Heritage gardens of Kirstenbosch or visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated.

Days 1 & 2. Stanley & Livingstone, Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls' first boutique hotel, with just 16 Suites, the hotel's elegant and approachable design is a fresh take on the colonial style and its spaces - a lounge, bar, restaurant, terrace and pool facing onto the neighboring reserve's waterhole.

Activities include guided walks at the Victoria Falls numerous view points, sunset boat cruises and additional activities include a helicopter flight, micro-lighting or even white water rafting and bungee jumping.

Days 3, 4 & 5. Somalisa Camp, Hwange

After an early breakfast, depart by light aircraft to Somalisa Camp, an award-winning tented camp in the heart of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Its special location on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain sets it apart and provides spectacular views of the savannah plainse.

Seven elegantly furnished sail tents are all en-suite with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a copper slipper-style bathtub. Wildlife sightings include elephant, lion, zebra, gemsbok, giraffe, leopard, hyena, roan antelope and many more. Game is also prolific from the waterhole right in camp for a unique perspective.

 

Days 6, 7 & 8. Nyamatusi Camp, Mana Pools

Nyamatusi Camp is set in one of the wildest and most remote parts of Africa, on the banks of the Zambezi, one of the world’s oldest rivers. Consisting of six luxury tented suites with uninterrupted views of the river and escarpment beyond, each romantic tent is adorned with soft drapery and is replete with air-conditioning, indoor and outdoor shower plus a private viewing deck and plunge pool. 

Activities concentrate on expertly led game drives, canoeing and sunset motorboat excursions on the Zambezi River. Lion, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, hippo, prehistoric crocodiles and a wide variety of antelope and bird species are all frequently spotted here.
